It seems like everyday we are experiencing different kinds of weather. This is the perfect time to discuss with your child what they see, feel or hear when they are outside or even observing from their window. "What kind of clothing would be best to wear if going to the park?" " Should we wear a hat, jacket or bring an umbrella?" "Can you hear the rain?" OR "Do we need to put on sunscreen?" You never know what the day will bring, especially here in San Clemente!
Here are two fun weather songs to start us off!
Weather Song
Sung to Clementine
What's the weather? What's the weather?
What's the weather like today?
Tell me child's name what's the weather?
What's the weather like today?
Is it sunny, is it rainy, is it windy out today?
Tell me child's name what's the weather, what's the weather like today?
If All the Raindrops
If all of the raindrops
Were lemondrops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be!
I'd stand outside, with my mouth open wide
Singing 'Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah'
If all the raindrops
Were lemondrops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be!
(The best part of this song is watching the kids sing "Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah" with their heads back. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face!)

Love is in the Air
Here are 2 of my favorite songs about LOVE for kids!
Skidamarink
Skidamarink a dink a dink,
Skidamarink a doo,
Skidamarink a doo,
I love you.
Skidamarink a dink a dink,
Skidamarink a doo,
I love you.
I love you in the morning
And in the afternoon,
I love you in the evening
And underneath the moon;
Oh, Skidamarink a dink a dink,
Skidamarink a doo,
I love you!
Skidamarink a dink a dink,
Skidamarink a doo,
I love you.
I love you in the morning
And in the afternoon,
I love you in the evening
And underneath the moon;
Oh, Skidamarink a dink a dink,
Skidamarink a doo,
I love you!
I Love You
This is one of my favorites...I sing this to my son before he goes to sleep. We have fun acting it out as he touches his body parts to match the words. It is ok if you can't remember the tune, just say it aloud - your child will love it!
I love you, your button nose, your eyes, your ears, your knees, your toes.
I love you up to the sky, past the moon and stars so high.
If you feel alone and scared, always know that I am there.
Just like one and one make two,
you love me and I love YOU!
I wish you and your family a Valentine's Day full of FUN and LOVE!

Trash Truck Tuesday
This is the one day of the week I make sure my son and I are completely dressed, including shoes, before we come downstairs for breakfast. It is usually in the middle of eating our cereal that my two year old boy hears the "hum" of the trash truck coming down the street. He starts squealing with excitement as I take him out of the highchair and we run outside so we don't miss any of the show. Shay greets the trash man on the sidewalk with a huge smile, bouncing up and down and clapping his hands as the trash man collects each and every can. He studies how the truck mechanically lifts each can up over the truck and dumps out the garbage. Pretty amazing! Today there was a parade of about 6 boys following the trash truck up and down the street. We even managed to get the trash man to honk his horn. It was a great way to start our Tuesday. I'm sure it brightened the day of the driver as he watched the boys in his rear view mirror.
Who knew trash day would ever be so exciting?
