Valentines Day

 I always love the marble art because the kids have fun making it and it always turns out beautifully! We sent this one to Grandma.

Pasta, Puddles, and Pajamas

We had the most productive rainy day!   The boys helped make homemade pasta.

Rory strung pony beads onto pipe cleaners to make Valentine bracelets.  Shay melted chocolate to make mustache lollipops for his class Valentines.

And the day ended with a walk in the rain with puddles.

Valentine's Day LOVE Hunt

We are always up for a "hunt" and Valentine's Day is  a perfect excuse to go on a "LOVE" hunt.  There are a few ways to do it, depending on the age of your children or spouse.

Very young at HEART:  Cut up hearts in various colors and sizes and scatter them along a train that your child must follow.  At the end of the "love" trail have a small surprise for them.

Young at Heart: Come up with rhyming clues and have your child go on a hunt from one heart clue to the next.  For example:  Leave a clue on the front door so when they come home from school they can begin their heart hunt.  Some clues might be:  "You have to use your BRAIN, go look where you keep your ______."  Leave a clue on a toy train.  OR  "For a better LOOK, go find your favorite ______."  Leave a clue on a book.  Find things around your house that you can make up a rhyme for and leave the written clues on hearts.  At the end have a special surprise.

Fun at Heart:  Leave "love" notes around the house written on hearts.  Write reasons why you love that person.  For example, on the bathroom mirror, coffee pot, tv remote...

Love Bug

You've Been Bitten By MY Love Bug.  Happy Valentine's Day!

Supplies: popsicle sticks for the body, pipe cleaners for the antennae, construction paper to cut small heart for the head and two larger hearts for the wings (color your choice) and any fun decorations you have around the house such as glitter, stickers, buttons, etc... and white glue.

Love Bug Assembly Line

Today we started our Valentines...it will take a few days due to train and truck distractions.  If your child is really into crafting this is a perfect craft.  However, we completed TWO Love Bugs today and have one week to decorate the remaining ten needed for his classmates.  Wish us luck!  :)

In time for Valentine's Day

Today was my son's preschool teacher 1/2 birthday and the class had a little celebration to let her know how much she is appreciated and loved.  Each child brought in a special card to hand her.  Needless to say, the teacher was touched by their kindness.
This card could be used for Valentine's Day, grandparents and anyone we love!

Supplies:  red non-toxic paint, paint brush, white and red paper, and WET WIPES
Directions:  Pour some red paint on a paper plate and paint child's hand, one at a time.  Wipe hands immediately.  Once paint has dried, cut out in a heart shape, leaving a white border so you can write a special message around the edge.  Then glue on red paper and cut around in a heart shape again.
